Corrosion

Rust or corrosion is the #1 killer of firearms. We have all experienced it – we go the safe or the gun rack to grab our firearm and there it is, RUST! We cleaned it when put it away, we know we did, and yet rust has found its way onto your gun.

Weapon Shield® provides superior corrosion resistance. Simply wipe on Weapon Shield® liberally with a cloth or lint-free rag, allowing it to soak into cracks and cervices. Weapon Shield® protects all metals from surface rust invasion, and by filling in the small asperities in the metals, creates a film of protection that prevents moisture and airborne corrosives from bonding, and remains even when the product is wiped off.

Friction

While rust and corrosion can cause irreversible damage and destroy the mechanism of your firearm, friction is attempting to do the same thing all the time. Just more slowly. For some firearms friction is less of a concern. Take a single shot rifle as an example, not a great deal of friction taking place outside the bore during the firing process. A revolver has more friction in its action than a single shot, but it needs protection too. Revolver cylinder wear is a real thing. Locking mechanisms that time the cylinders are critical. But when it comes to autoloading systems, friction and wear can be a very challenging enemy.

Weapon Shield’s® Advanced Boundary Film (ABF) Technology is not a slogan, it’s science. When Weapon Shield® is applied to metal surfaces it builds a positively charged layer of protection on the surface of the metal repelling other metals, copper fouling, lead and other contaminants. Additionally, as it breaks in the surfaces of the metals, it reduces surface peaks and settles the particles in the asperities of the metal’s surface creating a smoother surface.

Heat

Smoother surfaces equal less friction which equals less heat.

Heat expands metals, and with tolerances already very tight in most firearms, preventing heat goes a long way towards protecting your investments. When manufacturing firearms, tolerances are built in to allow for some heat expansion. But when the mechanisms heat expansion exceeds those tolerances because of extreme heat, your weapon is prone to failure and damage perhaps beyond repair.

This is where Weapon Shield® excels. ABF Technology actually improves lubricity when heat and pressure are increased. Because the friction is reduced, heat is reduced, and metal expansion is reduced. Tolerances stay within their allowable boundaries and weapons function better.

This is especially true in semi-auto firearms. When actions are properly lubricated with Weapon Shield®, weapons function more freely and more reliably.
